BGA LIST OF SITES AND TURNING POINTS

CORRECTION TO AMENDMENT LIST 2 TO THE 1997 LIST (AL 2/97)

DATED 30 APR 99

This amendment is an addition to AL2/97 which was dated 28 Feb 99, and includes some new points and other changes and corrections to the England and Wales list which have been notified and agreed since then (the Scotland list is not affected). It re-instates the Lleweni Parc site which, subsequent to the article on page 340 of the Dec 98 S&G, has been able to be retained for gliding use but with the club name changed from Glyndwr to Denbigh Gliding Club. The opportunity has been taken to change the exact point to the white-roofed hangar in the NW corner of the field, which is also useful as a wave turn point. Similarly with the Chipping site (Bowland Forest GC), the club requested that the point be changed from the centre of the airfield to the hangar.

The new site mentioned in the Dec 98 S&G article has changed and is now 7 NMl W of Wrexham under the name N Wales Gliding Club. This club was at Bryngwyn Bach, now closed as a regular gliding site but still with some light aircraft activity.

Two new points proposed by the Bowland Forest are also included, at Kendal and Grimwith

The BGA Competitions Handbook for 1999 has gone to print without thisamendment, but this amendment is official from the date quoted. It was felt that the data for the two sites concerned could be changed from what appears in the Comps Handbook because they are unlikely to be used as TPs in BGA rated competitions, and the other TPs are new ones.

BGA TP data which includes this amendment is incorporated into the 2000 List. Formats available include table , straight ASCII, and comma-separated (for use with database systems). The undersigned also invites any proposals for future changes and additions.
